Twas the tour before brain injury, and all through the studio, not a creature was stirring, except Sam and Karrie-o!
Our beautiful version of "The Little Drummer Boy" was a gift to me from my friend and colleague Jammin’ Sam Rockalot of Germany.
During my last tour, in 2017, Sam & I got together in Vegasack to record my vocals & piano for "The Little Drummer Boy" at his studio. My injury happened in March 2018, and my music life derailed along with the rest of my way of life. Drummer Boy was put on hold.
In 2019, Sam fully produced the song, playing all the other instruments according to the vibe we wanted. And gosh, how I love his vocals! I can't wait to be in Germany to sing with him again! Sam and I have sung metal together on stage, but this is not a metal version of the classic Christmas carol. It has a peaceful, compelling vibe unlike any other recording of Drummer Boy I've heard. It's perfect for the season.
Sam charged me nothing for the countless hours he invested in recording and producing this song. And you get to decide how much you'd like to pay to download it.
The proceeds of the song will go to pay for the song's legal licensing ($50), and then anything after that, Sam wants the rest to go toward my mTBI recovery therapies.
If you can, please be generous. And if you can't afford to help benefit those causes, it's totally ok! Just choose the minimum 65 cents option which is cheaper than iTunes & Amazon, and enjoy!
